Respite care

What does a respite carer do?

Our professional caregivers are there to support people’s existing lifestyles, whilst positively enhancing them. A respite caregiver can offer companionship and friendship, from cooking meals and eating together to heading out to a club or activity or offering a much-needed listening ear.

Sometimes incidents happen leaving you without the care you need to continue living at home safely and independently. Emergency respite care can be used to fill the gap when a person’s regular caregiver becomes unavailable or a sudden fall, injury or illness occurs, and you need dedicated support to recover.

Just contact our friendly team and let them know about your situation. We will make it a priority to get you the respite care you need when you need it.

Caregivers can provide support in the following ways:

  • Personal care (hygiene)
  • Cooking and meal planning
  • Housekeeping – cleaning and laundry
  • Household management/administration
  • Mobility support
  • Social activities and lifestyle support – both in and out of the home
  • Shopping and trips outdoors
  • Post-hospitalization and rehabilitation care
  • Emergency respite care
